I love taking online art classes

I started a new to me online Mixed Media class with Paivi Eerola of Peony and Parakeet the class is Imagine Monthly and I am loving it!She teaches you new ways to do Mixed Media. Here is my first lesson.I used water color, collage, colored pencil and marker.

I am loving this look of pencil drawing s and collage. In this one I have used paper napkin and some paint for the background and I cut my drawing out and pasted it on top.

Graphite sketches

I am back to sketching in graphite, but this time adding the faces to my mixed media background pages. The backgrounds have paint, paper, napkins, and I also used some stencils.

I am into the coloring books!

Yes I am into coloring books, they are such a great way to practice your shading and colors. This is a page from the book  The Look. I show how to use this book for showing how to shade with pencils, hope you give this a try.

I have decided to sketch more, I love to watch Ustream and Youtube  but feel like my time has been wasted , so I will try sketching while watching, this way I have something to show for it . LOL

PaperArtsy Faces Challenge

I have always been fascinated with drawing faces and trying new ways and mediums. PaperArtsy has a faces challenge and has posted some great links to artist that have their own one of a kind style. I have always been drawn to the way Jane Davenport paints faces and would love to try her style one day, But to day I am working with pastels on black card stock paper, and since it is so close to Halloween, here is my face.

It is about this time of year that I start thinking of spring and the warm weather. So when it keeps getting colder and snowing it feels like winter will never end, and when I saw these emus expression I had to do a journal page using them.
