Back to drawing, thought I would try Johnny Depp

Well I needed to get back to drawing, it seems that if I stay away from it to long I have trouble seeing what I am drawing properly. So here is Johnny

Needing Spring

It is about this time of year that I start thinking of spring and the warm weather. So when it keeps getting colder and snowing it feels like winter will never end, and when I saw these emus expression I had to do a journal page using them.

I have always loved the beautiful patterns and colors that I see in quilts. So I am using this in my mixed media journal page. Love this page!

Laid off at work for the week....Lets ART !!

What a great excuse to spend more time in my studio, I have a week off work so I have decided to make Art! This is my drawing of Shemar Moore from criminal Minds, done with a HB Derwent pencil.

Snow Day Drawing

On Monday I had a snow day. Had to stay home so I took advantage of this by turning it into a Art Day! This is one of the sketches I finished of my son Mike. I used a 4B pencil and some white charcoal.

Trying to sketch more.

I read and hear from artist that you have to sketch every day to improve your skill. I find it very hard to do every day. After you come home from work and do the house work I just want to relax . I have to be in the right mood to create. So this is my first drawing of the year, this is my son Matt.
I am going to try to draw people I know. I think it will be easier to see any mistakes this way.
