How to paint acrylic birds : mixed media art journal page.

      

Here are a few more pages that I did in my journal in the same as my Winter Birds page ( I am behind in my Blogging, I know I'm bad!).

Well I have been working on a video to show my process of how I do my mixed media journal pages. I think it turned out not so bad, you be the judge!

Another journal page for the month

I am doing well as far as doing art every day but the blogging every day I need to work on...
These journal pages took a few days to finish, but I am pleased with them. I hear a lot of artist that say don't think about what to do, just do it. Well  I tried that and I was so disappointed with the end piece that It stopped  me from wanting to do anything more. So I guess that way is not for me, So If you find your self in the same way don't feel bad , plan out your next page or canvas there is nothing wrong with that!

This is a mixed media journal page , I used scrapbook paper Golden acrylics and stencils from Stencil Girl for the background. The face is done in Stabilo pastels,  

"Tweets"  is also in my journal,  it was done with Lindy's Moonshadow spray ink and the lettering was molding paste and a stencil from Crafters Workshop. The bird is done in Golden Acrylic paint. 

 

These birds are a two page spread , also done with Lindy's sprays and a Stencil Girl stencil. There is also some acrylic paint  the background and some japanese paper pieces. The birds are done in pastels.  

# 2 Art every day

Well so far so good , I am loving this so far. This one is also a journal page done with collage papers, acrylic paint, and ink. I got the bird idea from some old painting books by Sherry Nelson.

Art every day- month #1

Well I have given my self a challenge of doing art every day for a month, the piece of art can take a couple of days to finish but you must try and  work on it every day. I found this Challenge  from http://.creativeeveryday.com. It is to help you get in the habit of doing art on a regular basis. It will also get your creativity fired up and running. Well here is my first journal page in this challenge. It is made with collage paper, ink, acrylic paint, and molding paste.

This is a fun journal page where I used Fabscrap paper for the background, and then used collage paper, color pencil, ink and a little acrylic paint.

faces class

April 25, 2013

I have been taking a face painting class with Kat McBride. I have very little experience using acrylic paint with faces, had now idiea where to start. This class was great, she showed step by step. Practice makes perfect they say, well this is face # 5. I still have a lot to learn but am enjoying every moment while doing so.

Good evening every one! Yes it is almost the end of February and I have not posted every week Sorry! I have been working on a new for me sketch book using Lindy's Stamp Gang sprays and color pencils. This is new to me because I have never worked with color pencils before. It has been 30 years since I sketched. You know how life and children take over! Well now I can play when I want. So here are six sketches I have worked on  since the new year.

New Year New Art

Well it is a another new start to a new and bright year. My plans are to paint and collage a canvas every month and art journal every week. I have some commissions to start on right now, very large 4x4 foot x2 , I have a Idea for those sea,  sand dooms, shells ,and sand pippers. I will post my progress as I go.
